Groovy 1.8.0.
After four release candidates being under consideration the final choice by the Groovy team was given to version 1.8.0. This new release will introduce built-in JSON support, Domain-Specific Language authoring capabilities, as well as new functional programming features of closures.
The resent releases of Groovy version 1.7 have been backported by currying, as well as new AST transformations have been added. Now the users can hook into the Groovy compiler source code reading process and build AST from it, as well as incorporate the AST into bytecode.

New GroovyServ 0.7 Release
Newly available is version GroovyServ 0.7. GroovyServ’s main function is in attempting to speed up the startup time of Groovy through pre-invoking Groovy as a server. This release allows users to see groovyserver's CLASSPATH information right at startup message. Another feature is that the JVM option's "-server" was added to groovyserver experimentally.
Security Fixes for SpringSource dm Server, Gemini and Virgo
New versions of SpringSource dm Server, Gemini Web and Eclipse Virgo, released recently by SpringSource, have all the Tomcat 6.0.32 security fixes integrated into them. Apart and in addition to the Tomcat fixes, other upgrades are also available, such as: the OSGi web container upgraded by Virgo 2.1.1 to Gemini Web 1.1.1.RELEASE , and the SpringSource dm Server utilities upgraded by Gemini WEb 1.1.1 to Virgo 2.1.1.RELEASE utilities.
Google Docs Becomes Available on Android
This Google Docs application for Android, released recently by Google, allows users to share, upload, and edit documents right from their Android smartphones. The uploaded files can also be converted to the Google Docs format, as well as a photo of the converted text can be taken and converted to a Google document.
